Brake Time

At 84k miles, my '14 is finally in need of new brakes. I have been toying with going EBC, but don't have experience with them in a larger vehicle. Looking for fact based opinions. I tow a 34' camping trailer @ 10k lbs through mountains. Thanks all!

Compression brake

Just saw this at work. We have new KW and Pete trucks coming in with the PX7, or another words 6.7 Cummins. They are factory with an engine compression brakes, 3 stage in brakes in fact. Does anybody have more information ? Jacobs site is very outdated as always. Here's proof.... Page 19......

Now that tells me the parts will be out there at some point. Read , it states the compression brake and exhaust brake can be combined.

2014 4th gen parking light out message

I’ve been having this problem for the past month and I cannot figure it out to save my life, my truck has the premium led tail lights from the factory and and I have a parking light out message, it started out coming on every now and then but now it just stays on, my left taillight is out but my turn signal and brake light still work, one of the wires isn’t getting any power to it, all the fuses and wires are good I’ve already checked them, if anyone has had anything similar to this please chime in, I’ve already been pulled over 3 times for it being out, thanks in advance!

Uneven headstuds?

I have looked for an answer but haven't found anything. I am installing head studs, pushrods, and springs. I just finished the head studs, but I can tell that there is an uneven amount of threads popping out of the nuts. Specifically, #25 (shown in picture) I pulled it out and put it back in and it sits in the same space. Should I be concerned? Also I only lubed the top of the studs (as specified by ARP).
On a side note, the instructions specified that some sort of milling needs to be done for clearance on one of the rear most studs. Is this necessary?

Ez lynk tire size change / def service or limp

Truck has been stock (37” tires / level front) for a few thosand miles without issue. Passed MA inspection. Put stock wheels on changed tire size and reinstalled same stock ecm profile. Immediately get CEL and U02A2 and U02A3. Get codes every time I touch the EZ so I clear them. Within 20 miles I get them again and a warning to service DEF system 5mph limit in 150 mi. Its Sunday, Monday is a holiday I have a 600 mi delivery with vehicle specific permits monday. Any ideas? Id entertain a freak coincidence but this was immediately after reinstall. Thanks everyone

Need a clutch pedal bushing

I gotta get my hands on one of these bushings. I can't find them anywhere. I know it's been talked about before, and there was a link posted to Mopar Parts Overstock that supposedly had them, I ordered it, and it was the bigger bushing for the pivot rod for the clutch and brake pedal.

I need the small one for the clutch master cylinder push rod.

Fuel boss fuel pressure

I installed a GDP fuel boss a few weeks ago. Had some tube debris stuck in the bypass valve, cleaned it up and seems to be holding fine. Idles around 16-18psi and cruises around 16. Did a couple full throttle runs and it dropped to 8psi. Wondering if the Fass DDRp I have is kicking in and causing a low pressure loop. Anyone come across this issue?
Might disconnect the electric harness and see if it changes any

Let off throttle fast truck tries to bog down and die

When driving the truck if i throttle it up hard then let off of it fast the truck will bog down and come close to dying and sometimes will die

Why does my eb surge at idle??

Anyone a have they’re eb surge up and Down when you start truck and have the eb on. Especially noticble on high idle. I have anarchy tunes. Does it on every tune. I read ppl say the exhaust back pressure sensor has to be unplugged but anarchy says u need it plugged in. I unplugged it once and lost the eb at idle

FASS filter problem

Anyone else have a problem with the FASS filters not seating all the way??? I put one on the other day and it bottomed out on the nut the filter screws onto! It would only allow me to get 1/4 turn after the o-ring touched the pump housing. It's not leaking, but it's not on tight enough to stay put I'm afraid it will fall off at some point.:surprise:

Hi, I'm Dan from AZ. My truck is listed in my sig. It basically tow pig for me, I've owned it for 9 years now and put well over 100K on it, It's mostly stock but that is going to change soon. I've been an auto tech professionally for 16 years and have owned a large shop for 8 years. I'm a Cummins and toyota fan. I have access to alldata and a few other sources if it can be of any help to anyone. I've worked on mostly 3rd and 4th gen's so I have a fair bit of experience in the diag. and repair of them. I hope I can be of help to people here and gain some knowledge myself.

2001 Dodge 3500 Help on Multible PCM Issues

Hello fellows I need Help

My 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins DWD 4x4 Auto Trans Has DTC Codes P1693 ( 2 Key test) 950, 999 on Dash check and scan tool

Have Check Eng , ABS ,Airbag Indicators On,

I Have No Speedometer, No AC , No Blower , No power Windows

Factory EVII Security not arming fast blink on valet button

Have Delay on starting have to hold key then engine starts , runs ok except trans shifting funny and unlocking

Other forum s indicated Loss of Main Buss done so I pulledconnector checks bulkhead mains etc

Have No 12V at fuse block for blower nor windows

I have cleared codes with Scan tool , Hard reset by removing batteries )off for hours no help

This issue happen a few months ago and cleared it self after Hard reset by removing batteries

Any help would be most appreciated

Zone Offroad 2" Leveling Kit

I recently purchased a "new to me" 2013 3500 CCLB Dually. I have started to look into the different leveling kits offered for these trucks.

I came across the Zone Offroad 2" leveling kit.
I have seen that other kits, once installed, have placed the springs at bad positions (angles). The Zone kit looks to be angled as to correct the spring orientation.

I have searched the forum for this kit in particular, but without many results.

Does anyone have any information on these kits? Any help is appreciated!

What is the best option for adding timing and 3 cylinder idle on a 2005? This is a 12,000 lb work truck, so I'm not interested in anything crazy. The smarty Jr does what I want, but is there anything cheaper?

LED License Plate Lamps

Just installed a steel bumper on my 2015 with LED license plate lamps. As expected, I now have a license plate lamp out warning on the EVIC. Everything i read says install a 50W6ohm resistor on each lamp. When I wire in the first resistor, the circuit shuts off. Anyone have a solution? Thanks for your help.

Battery replacement

How often are you guys replacing your batteries? I have 2016 2500 with 38,000 miles already had one replacement under warranty by dealership. Trucks back in again because it wouldn't start there saying both are bad. The one was just replaced a year ago.

Oil leak

I have an oil leak on a 2012 dodge 2500. I think it's coming from the timing chain cover or is the front main seal. I was wondering how much it would cost to repair the leak? Thanks

I am new to this forum. I drive a 2015 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Laramie 4x4 with the 6.4 Hemi. I was planning on buying the Ram with the 6.7L CTD but quickly changed my mind when the dealer offered the lifetime warranty with the gas engine. I have been a diesel mechanic for 30+ years and know all the headaches that are required with the diesel engines from 2007 with the exhaust regen & now the DEF not to mention all the sensors, trouble codes & check engine lights. I really didn’t want to deal with all the BS. But, I would like to have the torque of the CTD in my Hemi as hp is compatible between the two.

I am pretty much limited to city driving living on Oahu Hawaii. Although, I do plan on moving back to the mainland after I retire from the Civil Service. My mpg fluctuates between 12.5 - 14 depending on how much I get on the accelerator and how far I have to drive. But, I must say this Hemi does have some get up and go power. Very nice when you want to get around some slow driver that makes your blood boil.

I do plan on purchasing a 5th wheel trailer when we move to the mainland. I was quite surprised to learn my configuration of truck with the 3.73 gears & 6.4L Hemi only had a max trailer towing capacity of 12,300 lbs. I would like to be able to tow more but not sure if I’m ready to drop $80K on a 4.10 rear end dually with a (HO) CTD with the Aisin trans to get the max towing capacity approaching 30,000 lbs. I am sure I will be able to find a 5th wheel within my trucks towing capacity.

I wish I would have gotten the ramboxes as they would be very useful.

I also purchased the Ram Lifetime Warranty. I did read the fine print of the warranty. Dodge covers everything except common wear items like brakes, tires, front end alignments etc. It costs me $100 each time I claim something using my lifetime warranty no matter how many items I claim. Suggest you wait and turn in as many claims per visit to maximize your $100 deductible.

I was also told I can’t add any accessories to the truck that did not already come with it from the factory. I thought that was a bunch of BS so I dug deeper and found out the parts people I was speaking to did not know what they were talking about. You can add MOPAR as well as aftermarket accessories to your truck without voiding your lifetime warranty. But, if those accessories cause any OEM component or system to fail, as determined by Dodge, that particular component or system will be voided from your warranty.

If your truck has a component failure such as a blown engine and Dodge determines it is due to normal failure they will pay you the value of your truck and cancel your warranty.

Have anyone with the lifetime warranty on their Ram with 3.73 gears changed to 4.10 gears? Just something I was considering as that would increase my towing capacity by 3,000 lbs to 15,230 lbs.
