How much hp should I be around?

I have a 1998 2500 12 valve 5 speed with a dual south bends clutch, bored .20 over, billet push rods, 120 valve springs, arp head studs, 188/220 Hamilton cam, stage 3 injectors (supports 800hp) 63mm fleece turbo, 3inch inercooler piping, my p pump was sent out to Farrel diesel service in MO fully built for over 700hp, and a ratcheting locker rear end from Yukon, what do you guys think I’ll be pushing for hp?

I've looked through the forums and found numerous posts with advice. more or less I'm looking for advice more specific to my situation. Currently running a borg s363 with an adapter plate and while it has worked it is overworked and my egts can get extremely up there. I've got a 05 2500 with the g56 so I need something that spools quick as its harder to keep my rpms up. Truck is a solid 700hp truck did 650 at 35psi but I will see 45-50psi at WOT. Dual cp3s, BMS 100hp injectors, lift pump, s06 custom tuning, and much much more. I'm head studded and fire ringed and considering maybe running a borg s363/68/.88 on top of a 471/96 /1.32 with the crazy carls compound kit. Also considering a s467.7 with a second gen swap but open to all suggestions. the end goal is to have a quick spooling set up that with cool down my egts a fair amount.

2nd Gen Rust Repairs and Repaint

Hey guys, I wanted to document what I did for some rust repairs on my 2002 2500 and a change in color that I've wanted since I got the truck. (Prairie Gold just wasn't for me...)

I bought the truck rust free in 2014 but several Maine winters and less-than-desirable treatment from yours truly resulted in rust and rot spots on my front fenders, drivers side rocker, and pass side rear bed side.

I'll preface this by saying I'M NOT AN AUTOBODY TECH. I'm not a professional painter, this is my first attempt at a full vehicle. It has some runs and the metallics aren't perfect but I'm happy with the results. Its easily a nice "20/20" paint job and fix... i.e. at 20 ft away or at 20 mph the job is excellent. This truck won't be gracing a car show, but then again its. a. truck.

2wd 47re to NV4500 swap

I just got ahold of a nv4500 to throw into my 93 d350. Ive had this truck for about a year, its already had the transmission dropped out so im just gonna throw the nv4500 in hopefully without too many problems.The donor nv4500 is out of a 96 2500. I know an adapter plate is needed? Clutch pedal Linkage? Anything yall would recommend for me? Will the old transmission mount not work work? I figured i might need new brackets but will I need a whole new mount. 1st Gen flywheel and starter won't work? I'm going to need to lengthen the drive shaft? Is their a sticky of some sort?Anybody know of a good write up that could steer me in the right direction?

So I got this message today "5 MPG Max Speed in 150Mi Service DEF System See Dealer"

No check engine light or any codes. Cleared codes anyway with two different scanners. Message is still there. I have the "Blue Driver" code reader and looks like one of the NOX sensors might not be working. Its reading 0.

Is it possible to clear this??

It's a 2013 with 26,000 miles. I'm over the 5 year warranty, so parts will be coming off if this isn't an easy reset. Tried to be a team player but enough is enough.

4-low, bad sound

06 dodge 2500 4x4
Had the truck in 4 low backing up a trailer up a bit of slope and got onto some pavement. I ended up having to turn a bit and wasn't really thinking about the fact that I was on pavement. I don't remember if at that point I was trying to go forward or in reverse, but I heard a sound that didn't sound too good. Front is stock open diff and rear is stock locking diff. Has 4.10 gears and 37" tires which I'm sure makes it better chance of something bad happening. At first I had some trouble getting out of 4-low, but did and put into 2wd and 4-high without problem. I just turned the truck around and immediately parked it and haven't drove it since. I looked at the drive shafts and front axle shaft joints and didn't see anything. Just wondering what I may have possibly broke internally. What is the weak link if it binds up bad enough? Is it going to be safe to drive to a shop? thanks

Has anyone done this and had ok results? Thinking of cheating it out for right now, welding the intermediate to the passenger side shaft at the CAD, throwing a plate on the CAD cover. Splines are ramped at the collar, coupler is worn, have the posi and it doesn't hold it in place. Would just buy the 30 spline ems off road single shaft and make it 01+ style but just trying to do this to get though till Christmas. Know there will me more wear on the front drive shaft/drop in mpg but anything else? Thanks and sorry if this is a repost, I looked for a while and couldn't find anything

I haven’t logged in a couple of years so I had to sign in with a new name. I’ve been through a couple trucks since the last time I was here but currently own a 2011 quadcab 4x4 deleted. I’m just a DIY guy like most everyone else on here looking for help occasionally. Currently have a post in the 4th gen non-Powertrain if anyone can help. Thanks

Fading black door pillar

Hi All, I searched the forums with no luck. I have a 14 Crew Laramie with the black tape on the pillars between the doors. They are fading and look like crap. I’ve tried many of the vinyl cleaners and back to black products with no success. Any remedies? Everybody’s help is appreciated!

I only got a single door lock/panic fob when I purchased my truck back in 05. It's about dead and I am looking to replace it. The key is not a chip key so this is just the fob that I need to get.
Any pointers on where to get one?

What to do next

Thought about getting rid of my 04 cummins for something newer but decided to keep it. Other than the clear coat pealing off, this is a great truck. I don't do a lot of highway driving, it's my daily driver to work, preschool, etc. and I don't want to deal with DPF/DEF/and the cost of a newer diesel. That being said, what do I need to do to make sure this truck goes the distance. Currently has 153,000 miles on it, never had a gooseneck/5th wheel in the bed, previous owner had a power puck installed but nothing else.

Hey guys picked up a 02 . 6 speed as a work truck with 115 k miles on it and bone stock . I trailer 12k plus a few times a month and under 12k daily in the mountains 6 % plus grades every day. Planning on compounding the truck. My question is what will I need to do to keep make it bullet proof ? The over all plan 100hp injectors head studs , compound turbos , duel disc clutch. Lift pump and programer . Any thoughts ? Is 100hp injectors to much . Did I miss anything . And is fire rings necessary?

Anyone know where to catch the high beam 12V+ wire?

Seems the canbus system in our trucks makes it nearly impossible to find the high beam output wire under the dash.

Anyone know where I might be able to find this outside of going all the way to the headlamps?

ETA: This is for a 2017 Ram 2500

Hello all,

I recently ordered my first brand new vehicle and chose a 2018 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4. Now, I live in Commiefornia, but am curious as to what modifications I have available to me. This will be my second diesel and am very new to it all but will be trading in my '14 Ecodiesel which has been nothing but a headache for me.

I've been browsing forums for some time now and figured sine I will be a Cummins owner that I should join this forum. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated and I look forward to talking with you all.

Hi everyone. Ok doing head gasket on my 08 ram 2500. Read alot of info on gaskets. Mahle or victor or cummins? Buddy ordered 2 gaskets online Cummings gaskets both of them but a mahle came in a cummins box?? Is this a suitable replacement for the Cummins gasket? Please help need input. Thanks.
