As the title says, when i pull the lever into 4hi or 4lo the transfer case goes in and the front driveshaft starts turning but the front axle isn't pulling. No 4x4 lights on dash or service 4wd message. 2014 2500 tradesman with 4x4 shifter in the floor. Any ideas?

Stolen from aurora co
Hi everyone, we're turning everywhere we can to try to get a hit on my bf's truck. He was parked at the Quality Inn in Aurora, CO while visiting home for a couple weeks. The truck was stolen from their lot sometime between 9/14 and 10/3/18. We know it's a long shot, but we figure there's no harm in checking.
His truck is a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins 6 cyl, blue with silver trim. It has NJ tags, so we would think it would stick out in Colorado, but you never know. It's also got those oval stickers that people get for souvenirs - one says OBX (for Outer Banks, NC) and another says GSM (Great Smoky Mountains).
He purchased the truck from his friend who passed away, so it has a great deal of sentimental value. He also has the only copies of some pics of his daughter in the truck. So, not only is he upset the truck was stolen, he's upset he lost those things and some tools.
The hotel is no help as they keep saying they're not responsible. They advertise they have security 24/7 and cameras in the parking area, but when I talked to the manager, he said that wasn't true and didn't know why it was advertised like that. He parked there because it was advertised as such and felt his truck would be safe there. He also said it wasn't towed, the Aurora CO Police also have no record of it being towed. There was no broken glass where the truck was, so whoever took it, knew how to get in.
He has no theft insurance on the truck, so it may be a total loss, but like I said, it cant hurt to put the info out there to see if anyone happens to catch a glimpse of it. Thanks for reading 0:)

2500 vs 3500
Leafs vs coils what do you all prefer now that the new platform has been out for some time? Also manual vs auto ?
I can drive both fine but not sure the manual is worth the extra daily effort to have the longevity and possibly lose resale value because it being a manual...
Plus the wife hates manual! [emoji51] lol but man I want a manual because it seems so much stronger and less maintenance etc!

Has anyone else noticed...........
that almost all the new posts that appear to be questions about a catastrophic or near catastrophic disaster or something that is easily answered in a search is from a first time poster??
I have noticed it on this site and another car forum I am on, I am guessing paid posters trying to drive traffic to the site.
Opinions on this??
I have gotten to the point I am just overlooking giving advice in them as I feel they are being posted just to cause negative comments on the Ram Cummins trucks.

Nerf style side steps for a Dually
I am finding that a Nerf style side step for a dually is almost impossible to find. Tough Country seems to be the only one I have seen so far and near as I can tell are close to $1,100. Any other options? At $1400 the AMP power steps might not be such a bad deal, but then they do not provide step access to the bed for trailer hookup. I have been rough quoted about $1k for custom built in a fab shop before powder coat.
It's starting to rain and get cold, my stock bars with the missing foot pads will be a death trap soon enough!
Any pics or ideas of where to look are welcome, Thanks in advance!

coolant freeze plug failure
driving the truck down the highway i hear a bang and knocking. thinking i just ran over something i keep going. get to my destination and see smoke coming out of hte hood. gages are all nominal. i feel around to find the rear freeze plug is missing...
so how do these coolant bypass things work? i want to be able to regulate psi in the coolant system to a lower psi than factory. i had issues with coolant blowing out before i rebuilt it too so i figure the common issue must be too much pressure in teh system.

07' 5.9 to 6.7 Short Block Swap!!
Ok guy's here is the plan, Looking for advice and tips to make this go smoothly.
Current motor is 5.9 that #6 piston got fuel hydro'd away from home, parking lot replaced #6 piston and honed cylinder best possible. don't judge me the damn thing got me home!!
I plan on buying a 6.7 short block and using my 5.9 head to keep things on the cheap, Going with ARP studs and not sure if i will fire ring it as i plan to find 600-700 HP some day in the future. ive read that the 5.9 rods are more stought and will swap onto the 6.7 crank and wrist pins no problem but i would like some clarity here.
Fuel injectors seem to be the big topic because the 6.7 piston bowel is different and requires a different spray pattern, WHAT YEAR INJECTORS are needed? I'm going with 60 to 100 overs in the swap while its apart or the max my CP3 can support.
Balancer is in question as well because i've read there is clearence issues with fan pulley.
i have an EFILive tune for my current setup and im sure i will need a new tune with the oversize injectors but will it run with the current tune?
ECM comes into question as well but since im using the same fueling system I think it's no problem..
i have a 65-13-68 custom HTTss turbo and I think with the new setup she will take more air with the fuel upgrades and i can do that later because of the budget.
Questions and answers would be appreciated!

New Diesel Owner
I posted in the introduction section but thought I'd introduce myself in the local chapter thread. I moved to Oregon about 4 years ago from New Mexico so I'm still kind of new to the area here. I run a local chapter of Heroes On the Water and I wanted a better tow rig to pull our trailer full of kayaks than my Cherokee. I wasn't planning on buying a diesel but a friend of mine told me about a nice looking Dodge Ram 2500 that just had the motor rebuilt. I went and looked at it but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. Fast forward about a month or so and I stop in at the guys shop to ask about a 2000 Ford 7.3 that I was looking at from a private seller and I notice he still has the Dodge so I throw an offer at him thinking he'd counter but he accepted. So I got a very nice truck with a freshly rebuilt engine (only 1500 miles on it) for a great price. I also made a new friend who happens to be a really good diesel mechanic. Win-win! :grin2:
That was back in May, then in August someone rear-ended me. It was a very large Ford F350 dually. So now my beautiful truck is in the shop and all upgrades are on hold for now. :crying:
It was stock except for the BHAF and 4 in exhaust when I bought it. Since then I've added a FASS titanium 165 fuel pump with 1/2 line from tank to injection pump and a set of gauges, and a boost elbow and a boost fooler. I have a Quadzilla XTZ+ waiting to go in and a set of head and tail lights and tow mirrors in my Amazon cart. I have to admit, I REALLY like my truck!

heat exchanger trans/coolant
so i was thinking, i have lots of space on the drivers side since all factory fuel stuff is out of the way. i might be able to run a 3rd gen exchanger over there for the trans. anyone ever done that before? use heater core hose to wrap from passenger to driver side of engine?

A coupl of weeks ago I got A hold of some bad fuel. Drained my tank, changed the fuel filter, filled up dumped diesel kleen in it and it seems to be good to go.....until I get to a half of a tank. When I get right at a half my truck lopes, loss of power it hiccups bad it is almost like it's running out of fuel. I don't get it. Anyone else had any issues like this? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Rad or Not 2 Rad
Hey every one! I bought my 92 W250 I think about 3 years ago, no major problems a few close calls and minor issues. recently my fan clutch failed and the fan did it thing and spun off and put a huge hole in my radiator. Lame I know, so I put water in it and drove home. I thought I read some where that you could put the second gen rad in for better cooling, thats wrong! From about 94-2000 the rad turns into this monster @ about 46 inches long, way to big to fit in the 31 inch spot between my IC pipes. The rad shop I ordered the rad from only gave me the option of a spectra rad I heard mixed reviews, I decided I would go with the Mishimoto it seems like the best quality rad that I could find. So I was all excited the price was expensive but relative to the spectra I was going to order its close to the same price but all welded aluminium, no crappy plastic tanks! So any way I place my order on the web site only to find out I cant get a rad till about Nov 30! this bugs me because I as many of you need my truck for work, not to mention that there will most likely be 2 feet of snow on my truck by then and my truck will freeze because of the water I used before I parked the beast; for a quick rad swap! Now I am thinking of trying to find a cheep old rad to put in while I wait for the good one to be welded and sent to me!:| lol I never thought my first post was going to be a rant but it is I guess, any thoughts or any one have a cheap old rad I can use!

Starts, runs, dies, lightning bolt, no code
So I've had this problem for months now where I'll start the truck and I'll get a lightning bolt and only see 12v on my edge insight monitor but it will run fine. It goes away if I disconnect and reconnect the driverside battery, then it's fine.
Well I got into accident a little while ago, drove it for a week without issue then took it to a body shop and the body shop I took it to said that while they had it it would start and run for a second, die, then they would crank it back up and run fine. It did it to me when I picked it up. It gave a code for no connection to the ECM. I cleared the code and it fired up fine. Now it runs fine for a week, then out of no where, has a long crank, runs for a second, gives the lightning bolt then dies with no fault code.
I've checked all the grounds and it keeps 14v the whole time until it gives an issue and give me 12v. Take the key out and try again, 14v and runs fine.
I'm at a loss here.

Laggy throttle response
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 quad cab long bed with the 6.7. I have egr delete, 5” turbo back exhaust with muffler, S&B air intake, and have draconian diesel EFI live autocal with the csp5 switch. The throttle response of this truck is laggy then starts to pick up. Is there any modifications I can do to help boost the throttle response?
