BMP fuel filter adapter

Anyone running this in place of the factory engine mounted fuel filter hosuing? I saw a GA video on youtube featuring this. Was going to buy the genos billet cap for the factory housing but have read those can be hit and miss on sealing up good. this replaces the cartridge style filter with a screw on cat or other cross matched filter.

Not a performance mod so I posted here for more views

Thank you for any help with this.

Stitching does not match dash vs. doors

I just purchased a 2018 RAM 3500 Laramie Longhorn. On the trip home I noticed the stitching in the leather dash is grey. The stitching in the door panels is brown to match the longhorn interior. It really looks weird to see the 2 different colors. Was this a mistake or are all of the Laramie Longhorns made that way?

SEMA build at 20?

$

6 Months ago, i sold my 2007.5 Cummins, Tow tune, deleted etc. Found a clean almost bone stock 2014 Laramie and pulled the trigger. I had always wanted a megacab, and finally i got one. At first the plan was to build slowly, maybe some 20x12's on 35's and eventually deleting it. And then i got the call, want to build for SEMA?

I run a film business on the side here in South Texas, and a project manager decided i was what he wanted to cover SEMA this year for him. We talked numbers and decided that he would help me build my truck in exchange for my filming. It took off from there.

At first I was really considering my options, budget, what route i would go, etc. I'm active duty Navy so i thought what if we did a patina/weathered metal wrap? Sent the idea to skepple and what they created is what you see today.

The build process has been insane, At first i started on the lift. At 20 going into this with only the basic concepts of mechanics i was in for a disaster from the beginning, The Mcgaughy's 8" lift ive got to say is one of the most badass budget setups ive seen. Installation wasnt too hard, but we definitely ran into some curve balls, number one anything over a 6" Lift almost always requires the Transfer Case to be Re-clocked, i didnt know that until i had almost the entire lift together. Once we got everything installed the truck went to CDP in NB TX to get checked and the T-case Reclocked. They checked it over, fixed a couple things, and sent us on our way.

After the lift we moved to the EZ Lynk w/ PPEI Tuning. The difference it made was night and day. We deleted the truck with some "Custom" 4" Piping into the Banks Catback 4" exhaust. Night and day difference for sure.

Then Line X did the bed liner, installed some swing cases, and then i prepped the truck for wrap. Had to rempve all the badges, door handles (Not fun), mirrors, bumpers, grille, Lights, trim. Vantage Vinyl did the Install and they did a good job, i cant complain if i did it there wouldnt be anything left of the truck

This leaves us to where were at now. Ill continue to update this thread with progress.

Battery problems?

Hey everyone. So my truck lately has been getting worse and worse to start in the cold. Being from Canada that's a bad thing haha. Anyways once temps drop to 32*F(0*C) she's a tough starter. If i don't get it the first two or three tries the batteries are too weak and I need a boost. Being an avid outdoorsman when I'm out in the bush a few days on the trap line or hunting etc it becomes a problem. Plug ins for my block heater are not always available. My other 96 2500 CTD I had before this one never had these issues, it would be -30* and it would start no problem even with 15w40.

The current batteries are AC Delco's with a CCA of 750amps. And even after sitting for a few days both batteries will read 12.5V before starting so for the most part they are charging and holding fine. The only thing I can think of is they're either too low of CCA's or the clamps have a poor connection on the posts, the PO used a screw as a shim to keep them tight since the originals are so worn. But I would assume this would cause issues at all times of the year not just in winter. Any ideas?

Hi all

Have me a 97 12 valve 230,500 kilometers spent a fair bit resurrecting the old gurl

I just had asised from previous repairs, kid oil leaks complete front end new exhaust ect ect ect
I found a head leak so I decided to get it done arp head studs gauges fuel plate and 3k gsk, well the truck runs really well but won't make more then stock boost 20 or so...
The mechanic did all common things blocked off wastegate no change ect...

He's thinking ppump might be the issue and wants to send it for testing, so that would be his time 250 and bench test 250...
I am not sure this is exactly the route to take but need to see what everyone's experience has been

Braking

Well I have our fair bit of money into motor and steering so far(still don't like the way these trucks steer)
I have to get brakes looked at or is this the way they are

I had new rotors and pads up front from when I did front end ,but haven't addressed the rear

The drivers rear locks up fairly easy and pedal is hard

The fronts will also lock as I know there not abs fronts

I am hoping brakes can be much better then they are because this is big truck and sliding is not great way to stop...

Can you guys with good working brakes give me some feedback, I honestly wouldn't keep the truck if this was the way they'd be,we get a lot of rain and stopping sucks in this beast

Doing a KDP prevent on my new to me 98. Any chance that the motor is at TDC when the cam and crank gear timing marks are lined up to factory specs?

Bypassing limp mode 2017 2500

Reposting this here per someone's recommendation...please forgive me if this is a duplicate post

Hi everyone,
After doing a lot of reading and emailing with JJ at DRD (thanks for all of your help JJ!), I still have a few questions about emissions/deletes. I have a totally stock 2017 2500 that has about 44k miles. I was interested in doing the EGRless tune with the MM3 from DRD, but they said that with high mileage you run the risk of clogging up the SCR. At the heart of what I want to do is basically clean up in the air my truck breaths and be able to bypass any sort of limp mode. I live in FL so I don't have to worry about emissions testing, but we may move one day and I don't want to hassle with having to put the hardware back on again. So, that leaves me with a few questions:

1. Has anyone out there with higher mileagee rigs running an EGRless tune actually had any exhaust clogging problems? If so, what happened and how many miles did you run without the EGR before you had issues?

2. Is there a tune/tuner out there that would allow me to run the exhaust hardware stock, but allow me to override limp mode and faulty sensors (we all know they will foul up on you at the worst possible time) without having to remove any exhaust components? I honestly wouldn't mind disengaging the EGR (as long as the SCR isn't going to go haywire on me), but again, could the tune bypass limp mode or allow me to override it somehow without removing anything else?

I actually love my truck the way it is - the power, the sound (or lack thereof), the smell (again, or lack thereof), etc. I just want to clean up the air it breaths and prevent any surprises while 1000 miles away from home on a camping trip with two young kids (if you know what I mean) without having to remove anything from underneath.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Carli Sway Bar

I have the Carli Back Country Kit in my hands, install will be later this month. Since I have time, I was thinking that the Carli Sway Bar might be a good way to go versus drop brackets and the factory bar. But $700???

Anyone have any real world experience with this part? If so, I'd appreciate your thoughts about it.

TIA - Marty

Mine is rotting out so I am hunting for a clean replacement.
Are the dually beds just standard 8' beds with the fiberglass wheel wells added?

Thank you.

Anything else’s I should be concerned with the smoking? The cables all looked fine. Hoping it was just bad batteries

Programming an '18 Ram KeyFob

Team,

I am driving a new '18 2500 Big Horn CTD 4x4 that I ordered. I now need to learn all about ordering and programming two spare keyFobs without having to purchase them from a stealership, unless I have to or need to.

Does anyone know how to tell if on-line Keyfobs are OEM quality keyfobs; and, is it necessary to get them programmed at the dealerships? At one time, you could program a third keyFob if you had the two originals. And, my keyFobs have a third, remote-start button. One aftermarket Auto key locksmith quoted me $185 for one, including programming. Ouch!

Thanks in advance,

Turbo repair

So Im going to be taking my truck to get diagnosed.
Im 95% sure the turbo is gone. Its building up pressure on the turbo when the exhaust brake is not on.
It builds around 5 PSI at around 65 MPH. At lower speeds and acceleration, its extremely loud and feels like the truck is working very hard to move.
I have a spare turbo that i got from the previous owner and im going to get it installed if the turbo is indeed the problem

So that being said, do you guys think its the turbo? and how long would it take a shop to install a turbo approx... and also, should i put in a new actuator valve?

As you guys can tell, Im not good when it comes to this type of stuff and have never owned a diesel previous to this, so any advice is very appreciated.

Thanks!

Getting a lot of brake dust build up from my right rear wheel. There is a consistent grinding noise and I believe its coming from the backside of the rotor but I'm not mechanically savvy. I don't have much money right now and looking for a fix before it gets worse. Any and all help it appreciated.
