97 auto shifts into nuetraul when you hit a bump??? Helppp

Ok, so this is really pissing me off: banghead:. My 97 12v auto seems be shifting into neutral when I hit a good size bump in the road or even a small pot hole. I can physically see the shifter go into neutral then i have to wiggle it around to find drive again. This is starting to get really annoying as i live in ohio and the roads are nothing but pot holes and bricks. Also the shifter seams to be loose and its a to find drive, it almost sits in between d and 3 not directly on drive! I really hope it’s not a tranny issue and just the shift linkage or something? Has anyone had the same or similar issue(s)? Please let me know what your problem was and how you fixed it. Thanks
