My 2001 2500 2wd had the factory shocks still on, I bough the truck 15k miles ago and decided to put some new ones on... I like good stuff so I went with a direct replacement Bilstein front and rear... My question is about the length of the front shocks when fully extended... When I jacked the front up by putting the jack under the center, this obviously leaves the front suspension fully extended downward... The bilsteins were about 1/2" too short for the rubber grommet to seat... I had to block under the wheel hub and let the jack down some until the shock rod was long enough for a full seat... I don't really like the thought of jacking the truck up from the center and having the shock's fully extended length keeping the front suspension from hanging, really seems like it would be alot of pressue on a shock... Is this right..? Thanks
