Vulcan performance draw straws

hey all,

so i got the airdog II and it came with a drawstraw but it is supposed to go in the factory fuel pickup assembly. Well i installed it the way it said to and my truck runs out at a shade under 1/4 of a tank.

So i was thinking about getting the vulcan performance draw straw but will it fit the fuel pickup unit where the other one is or should i just figure out how to fix this one.
