I need some advice quick. My ECU in my '02 went out in November. It runs at 40% but starts, runs good, just slow, and the check engine light is on. I need an emissions test to get my plates and an automatic failure is the C.E.L. on.
Anyway, I posted a want to buy ad on the forum and a guy has an ECU out of a '99 HO truck. I want to know if the only thing I will lose is my oil pressure gauge since Cummins changed sensors in '02. If so I can live with it for a while as I plan to p-pump the truck this summer. I just need to pass an emissions test soon to get my plates.
Current finances will not allow me to buy a new one. Besides, I believe 1700 for a new one is highway robbery for something that has less computing power than my phone.
