This is my first diesel so I am still getting used to the way they shift (auto) and the difference in throttle response (more torquey, turbo lag). But when i am leaving from a stop lets say up a slight hill it feels as though it needs to still downshift from 3rd to get me going and it feels really jerky, now thats if i am taking off slow and being easy, the harder i take off the more smooth it feels...does this make sense to anyone? Also if im not mistaking since diesels dont have a throttle body and they rev up by dumping fuel, that is why they "surge" if you get hard into the gas and suddenly let off especially at lower speeds.
I feel like my truck runs fine and that I am just not yet fully used to how they drive compared to how my gas job Ram 1500 did.
If anyone could just let me know if that sounds about right or not?
