HO injectors in SO a bad thing?

So a lot of you may not know what happen with me and my truck but that's neither here or there. My vp and injectors went bad. Had a reputable shop for diesels down here do the VP and he had a set of high output injectors that he hooked me up with for a good price and said they would work great and my mileage would increase. So turns out I have lost my mpg, I'm doing about 15at best and my power although its still there it doesn't pull as good as it used to and BARELY smokes(which I know has nothing to do with power but with the old vp and edge chip it would lay out a nice cloud). I used to get about 17/22 before new injectors. So did I do a bad thing with the high output injectors could that be my issue? I plan to get 75-100hp injectors soon anyways but I mean if that's my issue to horrible mileage ill love injectors up on my to do list.
