Okay, so my buddy was at my shop tonight. He has an 03 with the NV5600. i try telling him that he needs to use the clutch but he never does unfortunately :spank: Well he left my house, truck warm and got about 5 minutes away and is just letting off the throttle from 6th gear coming to a stop sign and said he heard just one single bang. something let go as he was letting off. after that you can put it in any gear and let out on the clutch and the truck will move ever so slightly but no more than that, less than an inch and then its just like its in neutral. but it makes this small grinding noise. not the normal grinding of gears but more like small metal pieces lightly touching together. its really hard to explain  but anyways, the truck is immobile and i pulled it back to my house with my 12v  i seems like a bearing finally gave up and a shaft fell out of place or something of that nature... i have researched a little bit tonight and found that the disassembly of these trannys is no easy task and lots of special tools are needed. my question is, where do we start. obviously check fluids etc but after that. pull the tail housing off... pull pto covers to inspect...? thank you for any help at all! it is greatly appreciated!
