My turbo all of a sudden sounds like a police siren while on the throttle and a vacuum cleaner while dropping down to idle. The wheels are not touching the housing and the play is the same as it was new. I dont want to risk scattering this things so I contacted the garret dealer in fontana and they tell me after contacting garret that my turbo is not on the center section or chra exchange program and that they will build me one to order for $1173 on a 8 week lead time. Garret advertises there powermax turbos are on a chra exchange program and that makes them able to be rebuilt for a fraction of the cost. Please someone tell me I have been seriously mislead and maybe point me in the direction of someone who knows whats up. A center section that is two thirds the cost of a new turbo SUCKS lol.
