Was going up a hill tonight doing about 40mph in 4th under moderate throttle when i heard a pretty loud snapping noise and felt like the truck was instanty in neutral and I rolled off to the side. wont move in any gear nor 4wd. I can hear the clutch making its usual noise but no unusual noises. made a rattling sound when it first happened for maybe 3sec. Im assuming input shaft? :banghead: its an nv4500 with a southbend single. would really appreciate advice on how to go about this and how much im looking at cost wise. should i do a billet one if so who do ya guys suggest?
I have access to a lift at work so i was considering pulling the tranny and taking it to a shop to have them do it ( ive done clutches but know nothing other than that transmission wise) advice on the difficulty level, cost and recomended parts would be awesome, thanks
