I'm looking at 2011-2012 3500 dullies since I do a lot of towing, and would really prefer to get 4.10 gears, but for the life of me, can not find a single one on a lot, anywhere... and I have spent hours sifting through dealer inventories up to 500 miles away. I really wanted to avoid custom ordering a truck.
So, to my question... how do you all find the 3.73's with towing?
A lot of my towing ends up through mountain/hilly passes, and I don't want the thing to be shifting all over the place, trying to find the "sweet spot".
Do you find the 3.73 gears adequate for towing 15k'ish lb loads, or is the 4.10's really just the way to go, and I should just suck it up, and order a truck?
