Fixed my front end clunk for 3 bucks!

I've been searching and replacing parts for 3 years now. Axel u-joints, ball joints, all new suspension, tie rods, sway bar links you name it. Finally I came across a thread about greaseing the steering shaft splines. I was very weary about it but I went and picked up some 5th wheel grease anyway. For 3 bucks what the heck. Well I'm shocked! It's been over 600 miles and still no clunk. If you can feel the clunk in the pedals and floor board this will most likely fix it. Here is the write up I found.

-Cut off both retainer deals on the boot (top and bottom)
-Unbolt shaft at gearbox.
-Now slide boot up and then pull or push shaft up toward firewall. This will allow it to come out of the lower shaft.
-Now that its free, pull the boot down and off and pull the shaft back down.
-Use heavy duty wheel bearing grease and coat the out of the splines all the way around and pump it slowly up in toward the firewall (like pushing a shock absorber in and out)
-When you pull it back out, coat it again and continue this a few times to make sure that grease is getting up in there.
-Put the boot back on push boot up toward firewall to expose the bottom section of shaft then align it back with the lower section and push it down back into it so you can put the bolt back in.
-I used zip ties to secure the boot at the top and bottom
I test drove it til temp was up on bumpy roads and its the first time since I bought this damn thing I was able to drive it at regular driving temp and felt no clunking
